You Really Can Die from A Broken Heart, Experts Reveal

“Sharp are the arrows of a broken heart.” – Cassandra Clare, City of Heavenly Fire
The concept of ‘dying from a broken heart’ is a tale that is often shared in our favorite movies and fairy-tales, painting a picture of a love that was so perfect that once just can’t imagine living without their partner. A romantic notion indeed, but experts are speaking up and revealing that ‘Broken heart syndrome’ isn’t reserved for works of fiction! In fact, people are suffering from the condition right here in America today!

Also known as ‘stress-induced cardiomyopathy,’ this is a condition that is caused when someone is under sudden extreme stress, like that caused by the loss of a loved one. Dr. Matthew Lorber, a psychiatrist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York explains, “Broken heart syndrome – which is, in fact, a real thing – is when someone finds out some shocking news, typically terrible news, and there’s a massive release of these stress hormones that are released into the bloodstream, and the heart is then bombarded with these stress hormones. This could be the news, certainly, of a loved one dying, which is where the ‘broken heart syndrome’ name comes from. This could be the news of getting a divorce. This could be a boss coming in and telling you you’re fired – anything that can cause intense stress”

Lorber also warns that this shocking or stressful news doesn’t have to be negative in nature. For example, a father being told for the first time that he is about to have a baby can trigger a similar bodily reaction. When the stress hormones reach the heart, they cause a temporary weakening of the left ventricle, limiting its ability to adequately function. As a result, the heart momentarily ‘freezes,’ causing circulation problems.

While there are some risk factors that will increase your chances, anyone can experience broken heart syndrome regardless of how healthy you may be. That being said, 90% of cases are in women, specifically those with a history of mental health problems, or those who have a history of neurologic problems such as seizures. Those who are over the age of 50 are also at a higher risk. Surprisingly, a history of heart disease does not impact your risk of broken heart syndrome.

The condition is treatable in most cases; however, it is important that all Americans educate ourselves on the signs and symptoms so as to seek medical assistance at the first sign. Often mimicking a heart attack, stress-induced cardiomyopathy often presents with chest pain, shortness of breath, low blood pressure, nausea, dizziness, fainting or an irregular heartbeat.

These are the victims of the Florida high school shooting

A hero teacher, a fearless football coach and teenagers only just starting high school were among the 17 dead after a gunman opened fire on students and staff at a Florida high school.

The identities of those killed in the deadly attack were revealed by heartbroken family and loved ones a day after suspected gunman Nikolas Cruz loosed a barrage of bullets in the halls of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

Family and friends desperately circulated the images of missing students in hopes of their return after Wednesday’s shooting.

But hours after the deadly spree at the Parkland school, Fred and Jennifer Guttenberg’s worst fears were confirmed. Their daughter Jaime Guttenberg was identified as a victim of the massacre as condolences poured in for the teenager, Local 10 News reported.

Earlier in the day, Fred Guttenberg shared that his son Jesse was safe, and enlisted the help of his Facebook friends by writing, “We cannot reach Jaime. If anyone has a child who saw or spoke to Jaime please call me.”

Meadow Pollack and Luke Hoyer were similarly reported missing in the immediate aftermath of the bloody attack. Meadow’s father, Andrew Pollack, confirmed his daughter’s death Thursday morning, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Hoyer’s grandfather said they were watching the news when he and his wife realized the shooting had occurred at their youngest grandson’s school.

“The day went by and we didn’t hear anything about Luke. We kept hoping they would find him wandering around in shock,” his grandmother, Janice Stroud, toldWYFF.

Meadow Pollack was first reported missing after the attack. Her father confirmed her death Thursday morning.

“Finally, they called us at 1 a.m. and said Luke was among the students that had been killed.”

Peter Wang was killed during a shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

Martin Duque, a 14-year-old freshman, also died in the shooting, the Miami Herald reported. His older brother Miguel, who graduated from the Parkland high school last year, confirmed the news in an early morning Instagram post.

“Words can not describe my pain,” he wrote Thursday. “I love brother Martin. You’ll be missed buddy. I know you’re in a better place.”

Another freshman, 14-year-old Gina Montalto, died from her injuries late Wednesday night. She was a member of the school’s winter guard team, which was slated to perform at a regional event in Tampa over the weekend.

“My heart is broken into pieces. I will forever remember you my sweet angel,” one of her former color guard instructors, Manuel Miranda, told the Herald. “She was the sweetest soul ever. She was kind, caring, always smiling and wanting to help.”

Peter Wang, 15, and Alex Schachter, 14, were also killed in the gunman’s rampage.

“He wasn’t supposed to die. He was supposed to grow old with me. Please share his story,” Wang’s cousin, Aaron Chen, told First Coast News.

Schacter, a freshman trombone player in the Stoneman Douglas marching band was proud of his school’s state championship win earlier this year. His father confirmed his death to the New York Times and described him as a “sweetheart of a kid.”

Luke Hoyer was killed by a gunman who shot and killed 17 people at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

Parkland soccer club remembered Alyssa Alhadeff as a "well respected" member of the soccer community.
Nick Dworet had only just received an academic scholarship and committed to joining the University of Indianapolis swim team when the shooting occurred. Often called “swim daddy,” the Douglas senior was captain of the swim team and has spent the last year climbing the ranks and improving his speeds, the Indy Star reported.

Fellow athlete Alyssa Alhadeff was also confirmed dead Thursday afternoon. Ryan Block, from Parkland soccer club, mourned the 15-year-old freshman in a Facebook post.

“To Alyssa’s friends, honor Alyssa by doing something fabulous in your life,” her family said in a statement. “Dont’ ever give up and aspire for greatness. Live for Alyssa! Be her voice and breathe for her. Alyssa loved you all forever!”

Aaron Feis, a security official and coach at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, jumped in front of the gunman's bullets during a school shooting.

Aaron Feis, who worked as an assistant football coach and security guard, was critically injured when he shielded students from the gunfire. The school football team confirmed he succumbed to his injuries overnight, saying that he “died a hero.”

Tyra Hermans stood outside the Florida school with a pair of signs on Thursday—one about gun control, the other about Feis and her friend, Joaquin Oliver.

Athletic Director Chris Hixon was killed when Nikolas Cruz, 19, shot and killed 17 people at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old said she’d been friends with Oliver since her freshman year and saw her pal for the last time before the shooting began Wednesday.

Communications director with the school’s football programs Denise Lehtio also confirmed athletic director Chris Hixon had been shot and killed, according toCNN.

The Mormon Church Thursday afternoon said two members of the religion attended the Florida school where the attack unfolded. The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints said 14-year-old Alaina Petty was killed in the shooting and that 17-year-old Madeleine Wilford was seriously injured.

They were both members of a Mormon congregation based in Coral Springs.

School shooter tied to white supremacist group in Florida

The gunman who opened fire on his former high school, killing 17 people Wednesday, was linked to a Florida white supremacist group that seeks to create a “white ethnostate” and urges its members to arm themselves.

A spokesperson for the group, called Republic of Florida (ROF), admitted that accused gunman Nikolas Cruz, was associated with the recognized hate group, according to the Anti-Defamation League.

Cruz, 19, has been charged with premeditated murder after killing 17 people and injuring 14 more at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

Individuals claiming to be ROF members identified Cruz as a group member on the discussion forum 4chan, according to the Anti-Defamation League.

The group espouses racist and homophobic principles, but claims not to hate minorities.

“We don’t hate people who are not white. We have done business with many people who are not white and work with people who are nonwhite in our communities toward our ultimate goals,” the group’s website reads.

Jordan Jereb, a leader of the ROF, said that Cruz was connected to the group, and had been “brought up” by another member, according to the Anti-Defamation League.

Cruz had participated in at least one ROF training session, Jereb told the Anti-Defamation League. A video that has since been taken down from YouTube shows ROF members doing the army crawl during training exercises.

The alt-right supremacist group claims members in north and south Florida.

It embraces paramilitary concepts from the anti-government extremist militia movement, according to its website.

The group describes itself as a “white civil rights organization fighting for white identitarian politics” whose goal is to create a “white ethnostate” in Florida.

Jereb said that ROF did not condone the school shooting, telling the Associated Press that “he acted on his own behalf” and is “solely responsible for what he just did.”

Jereb also said the Cruz “had trouble with a girl” and believed the timing of the attack — which fell on Valentine’s Day—was not coincidental.

The ROF’s website lists “allegiance to your race” as one of the group’s 10 codes.

“Mixing and destruction of the founding race,” “aliens in the land, alien culture,” and “homosexuality” are each listed as signs of a “sick and dying nation,” according to ROF’s website.

The group says it has its own militia, which it compares to the United States army. The group identifies as violent on its website.

“We will stand our ground against all who attack us. Those who attack us better know what they are doing. If your (sic) a military aged man and we believe you can cause us great bodily harm, We will do everything in our power to make you no longer be a threat, Which will probably involve us killing or hospitalizing you,” the website reads.

Almost everyone had Wi-Fi in the house due to its convenience. However, there have been some safety concerns and the conclusion it that Wi-Fi can be detrimental to the overall health, especially in children. So, Wi-Fi has a negative effect on various things, from brain health to sleep quality.
Potential Dangers of Wi-Fi

Damages Childhood Development
The non-thermal radio frequency radiation from Wi-Fi can disrupt normal cellular development, especially fetal development. This radiation affects growing tissues, such as in children and youth. Consequently, they would be more susceptible than average to the described effects and are at greater risk of developmental issues.

Contributes to the Development of Insomnia
Wi-Fi has also a great effect on sleep. If you feel like you cannot fall asleep, have an irregular sleeping pattern, it may be due to the low-frequency modulation from cell phones and Wi-Fi. People who are exposed to electromagnetic radiation have a significantly more difficult time falling asleep. And we all know that sleep deprivation can be harmful to the health.

Agitates Brain Function

Wi-Fi affects the concentration and the brain function. So, the brain activity is reduced, and as a result, you may experience trouble concentrating or have memory loss.

Neutralizes Sperm

Wi-Fi is another reason which threats man’s virility. Hence, exposure to Wi-Fi frequencies reduce sperm movement and cause DNA fragmentation. Moreover, it may impact fertility or increase the risk of abnormal pregnancy.

Fluid retention is the build-up of water in your tissues caused by liquid imbalance in your body. Your body is actually a complex system of hormones, which constantly adjust liquid levels to keep them stable. Moreover, consuming more than the recommended daily amount of water will not lead to any problems, because the excess water is removed by your kidneys in the form of sweat or urine.

Make the Following Dietary Changes to Prevent Fluid Retention:
– Reverse Potassium Deficiency

As potassium is responsible for keeping optimal water balance in your body, this mineral deficiency could contribute to fluid retention and imbalance and improper functioning organs.

– Fight Magnesium Deficiency

Did you know that magnesium plays an important role in maintaining good health? This mineral is responsible for the regulation of many bodily functions. So, it is recommended to take at least 200 mg on a daily basis. Optimizing your magnesium levels helps prevent fluid retention. Foods abundant in this mineral include spinach, whole grains, avocado, dried fruits, and nuts.

– Reverse Vitamin B6 Deficiency

Low levels of vitamin B6 in your body could result in fluid retention. In order to prevent it, you should optimize your vitamin B6 levels. Foods rich in this vitamin include chicken, bananas, pistachios, potatoes, sunflower seeds, and tuna.

 – Prevent Dehydration

It is a well-known fact that not consuming enough water throughout the day contributes to dehydration. In addition, this will cause your body to retain water to survive, thus resulting in swelling in the tissues.

– Avoid Consuming Processed Foods

Most processed foods are abundant in sodium and sugar, which are 2 ingredients that are considered to be the main culprits of edema.

– Avoid Eating Too Much Sodium

Unfortunately, sodium is found in most foods you eat every day. Eating too much sodium and not consuming enough water could lead to fluid retention. This means that you should avoid eating too much salt to lower your risk of this health problem.

Additional Tips on How to Reduce Your Risk of Fluid Retention:
It is important to understand that getting regular exercise helps prevent fluid retention. Namely, it helps compress the muscles in your veins and remove excess fluid through sweat and urine, thus activating the circulation in your legs.

You should elevate your legs while resting since it helps decrease the swelling in your ankles. Simply put your ankles above your knees at a sharp angle to speed up fluid movement.

That’s not all, you also need to eat more veggies and fruits to prevent fluid retention. The high amounts of flavonoids found in veggies and fruits help eliminate excess fluids from your body.

You should not also wear tight clothing because it can have a negative impact on your blood circulation. Also, avoid having a shower with hot water to prevent dehydration and fluid accumulation in your body.

He Started Calling Dad Old For His Behavior. Dad’s Response… BRILLIANT!

I took my dad to the mall the other day to buy some new shoes (he is 92). We decided to grab a bite at the food court.
I noticed he was watching a teenager sitting next to him.

The teenager had spiked hair in all different colors: green, red, orange, and blue. My dad kept staring at him. The teenager would look and find him a staring every time.

When the teenager had had enough, he sarcastically asked “What’s the matter, old man, never done anything wild in your life?”

Knowing my dad, I quickly swallowed my food so that I would not choke on his response, knowing he would have a good one. In classic style he did not bat an eye in his response:

“Got drunk once and had sex with a peacock. I was just wondering if you were my son”

A Texas father, who killed a pedophile after catching him raping his screaming 5-year-old daughter, will not face criminal charges, a court ruled. The 23 year old dad reportedly beat the rapist to death with his bare hands but will not be charged with homicide under state law.The man, who can’t be named to protect his daughter’s identity, caught 47 year old Jesus Flores molesting his five-year-old child in a secluded barn and subsequently killed him.

Law enforcement took into account that the father called 911 after the attack and accepted that he had tried to help him by contacting the authorities.Under Texas state law, deadly force is authorized and justified in order to stop an aggravated sexual assault or sexual assault.A Lavaca County grand jury decided not to press charges against the 23 year old father for the death Flores and felt he had already suffered enough from the ordeal.

According to the Daily Mail, under Texas state law, deadly force is justified in order to stop an aggravated sexual assault and coupled with the fact that the harrowing 911 calls made by the father back the claim that he even tried to save the pedophile’s life, led to the grand jury’s decision.Lavaca County sheriff’s deputies said that the father, whose name has not been released to protect the little girl’s identity, sent her and her brother to feed the family’s chickens.

The boy rushed back to tell his dad that someone had grabbed his sister and taken her to a small secluded shack and the father rushed towards his daughter’s screams and arrived to find them both with their underwear off.Flying into a rage, the father beat Flores unconscious but attempted to call 911 for the rapist after he had made sure his daughter was safe.

Sheriff Micah Harmon had said in June that he was not willing to press charges against the father, rather the case would be presented to a grand jury.At the time, Harmon said that the man was ‘very remorseful’ and didn’t know at the time he had killed Flores.‘You have a right to defend your daughter,’ Harmon told CNN at the time.

‘The girl’s father acted in defense of his third person. Once the investigation is completed we will submit it to the district attorney who then submits it to the grand jury, who will decide if they will indict him.’

Indeed, the father is heard profanely screaming at a dispatcher who couldn’t locate the property.Becoming increasingly frazzled, the father at one point tells the dispatcher he’s going to put the man in his truck and drive him to a hospital before sheriff’s deputies finally arrive.V’Anne Huser, the father’s attorney, sternly told reporters several times during a news conference at the Lavaca County courthouse that neither the father nor the family will ever give interviews.

‘He’s a peaceable soul,’ Huser said. ‘He had no intention to kill anybody that day.’The attack happened on the family’s ranch off a quiet, two-lane county road between the farming towns of Shiner and Yoakum. Authorities say a witness saw Flores ‘forcibly carrying’ the girl into a secluded area and then scrambled to find the father.

Running toward his daughter’s screams, investigators said, the father pulled Flores off his child and ‘inflicted several blows to the man’s head and neck area.’Emergency crews found Flores’ pants and underwear pulled down on his lifeless body by the time they responded to the 911 call.

The girl was taken to a hospital and examined, and authorities say forensic evidence and witness accounts corroborated the father’s story that his daughter was being sexually molested.‘Under the law in the state of Texas deadly force is authorized and justified in order to stop an aggravated sexual assault or sexual assault,’ District Attorney Heather McMinn told reporters in June.

‘All the evidence provided by the sheriff’s department and the Texas Rangers indicated that’s what was occurring when the victim’s father arrived at the scene,’ she said. Authorities said he expressed regret at the killing at the time, and no evidence so far has led them to doubt his story.

The girl’s grandfather agreed it had been an accident.‘My son. Sorry,’ the grandfather told the Victoria Advocate in broken English. ‘It was an accident.’Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon added: ‘He was very remorseful. I don’t think it was his intent for the man to die.’Residents of the small Lavaca County town were largely in support of the father, saying the victim deserved it.

Sonny Jaehne, a Shiner native, told the Victoria Advocate: ‘He got what he deserved, big time. Friend Mark Harabis reiterated this: ‘I agree with him totally. I would probably do worse.‘The family will have to deal with that the rest of their lives, no matter what happens to the father. Even if they let him go, he and his child will have to deal with that the rest of their lives.’ CPM e CPC

It was one seemingly ordinary day when I decided to QUIT… All of a sudden I made a decision to quit my job, my relationship and finally my spirituality. I just wanted to quit my life. But before that, I went to the wood to have one last talk with God.I started: “God, can you give me one good reason not to quit?”

His answer really surprised me: “Look around”, He said. “Do you see the fern and the bamboo?”

I replied: “Yes. When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth.

Its brilliant green covered the floor.Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.

But still, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo

He said: “In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit. In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would not quit.”

“Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant…But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.

It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle.”

After that, He asked me: “Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots. I would not quit on the bamboo.I will never quit on you.”

“Don’t compare yourself to others.” He added. ”The bamboo had a different Purpose than the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful.” God said to me: “Your time will come”

“You will rise high”.

I asked: “How high should I rise?”

“How high will the bamboo rise?” He also asked.

I was confused: “As high as it can?”

”Yes.” He said, “Give Me glory by rising as high as you can.”

After this conversation I left the forest and I wrote this amazing story. I really hope that these words can help you to see that God will never give up on you.

You should Never, Never, Never, Give up.

Don’t tell the Lord how big the problem is, tell the problem how Great the Lord is!
